The Hunger Games - District 13

Hi everyone, this is the last district look, although I still have the Capitol to do. I don't know if you saw the nail blog post where I explained the history of this district but i'll just repeat it now in detail: District 13 stage occupation was mining Graphite but the reason they mined the ground was to make nuclear bunkers and controls underground. They created nuclear weapons and were a sort of base for all the Capitols weaponry. After the first rebellion the Capitol destroyed District 13 to intimidate the other districts and regain their power. The citizens of District 13 fled underground where they managed to survive, only the Capitol knew this but they left them because their nuclear power was a threat to them. Over the years they hatched a plan for a revolution and Katniss stays with them for the majority of the third book (sorry if that's given anything away for anyone!). 

Okay, so makeup wise I've done a green lid because I see that as a nuclear, radioactive kind of colour. Because District 13 has been destroyed above ground and is just smoke and ash, I did a black smokey crease and then to acknowledge that Katniss stays underground with them I did a small fiery lower liner thing. The lips are a strange purple to represent the slight weirdness of the whole district but I also see it as quite dark and President Coin of that district is a little 'edgy'. Enjoy!

...apply this shadow to the inner half of your eye lid...

...using the same brush, apply this to the outer half of the lid...

~Chubby pencil brush~
...using a brush like this...

...blend this colour into the outer corner crease...

~tapered brush~
...using a brush similar to this...

...blend this colour into the crease and up to the brow bone...

~NYX Jumbo eye liner pencil~
...apply this darker colour to the outer half of the lower lid and the lighter in the inner, then blend them together with your fingers in the middle where they meet...

~Flat liner brush~
...using a brush like this...

...lightly apply this loose pigment over the top of the eye liner to set it...

~Chubby brow brush~
...using a highlighting brush...

~Urban Decay, Book of Shadows II~
...apply this colour to the brow bone to bring down the dark colour slightly...

...apply this to the water line...

~Lip brush~
...using this brush for precision... 

...gradually layer this colour on the lips.
