Fake MAC products

Hiii everyone, so this is a post that i'm writing due to the failure of my last. I basically did a review/haul of some of the new MAC pigments I got on the internet (Ebay to be precise) after posting on the blog an uploading the video on YouTube some people pointed out that they were actually fakes. I've never had the problem with fake products before so was, in short, naive and stupid but now I know better and this is a post that I urge you to read through so that you don't make the same mistakes that I did and waste your money on fake products. I will also have a video showing you how to spot the fake products, you can watch that below or if it's not working click here  to go to my YouTube channel to watch it there (please comment, subscribe and follow!)

So first of all, the labels on the top of the boxes that tell you what the colour of the product is called is a big giveaway:

GENUINE
All the labels will be in the right top hand corner, they'll all be inline so that the writing is in a straight line and all the labels will be the same size.
FAKE
These labels are the same size as genuine MAC labels, but they're not straight or all in the top right corner some of them are folded over the sides, you can tell that these are fakes by how messy the packaging is.
FAKE
These labels are bigger than the genuine MAC ones so you can automatically tell that they are fakes, they also have the giveaways of the fakes above.
GENUINE
All the names printed onto the genuine MAC labels will be in cap locks (every single one).
FAKE
Both sized labels on the fake products have one capital letter at the start and then the rest are lower case, this is a huge giveaway.
FAKE
One of the fake products however was in all capital letters, the label however is bigger and stuck on messily so is obviously a fake.
GENUINE
A sure way to know if your MAC products are genuine is if  the colour is actually printed onto the box, unfortunately, only some MAC products have this (usually eye shadows).
Second, always check the small print:
GENUINE
On the back of the genuine MAC boxes, the description of the product  will be in bold capital letters and the rest of the small print will be not be in bold but still cap locks.
FAKE
As you can see, even though the product description is in all the different languages, it's not in bold or the same font, also the small print does not tell you the ingredients in the product.
GENUINE
Bold description and ingredients (not bold) but also at the very bottom the MAC website is printed  and you have one symbol, the two arrows intertwining means that the box is recyclable.
FAKE
Even the fake manufacturers have boundaries, they can't print the MAC website details as you can see it's missing from the small print. Also, there is another sign before the recyclable one, whatever it means it's a sure giveaway that you're dealing with a fake, as no genuine MAC products will have this extra sign/symbol.
Last but not least, what they show you on the website and why:
FAKE
Usually on websites where they sell these fake products they will only give you a picture like this so you can't actually tell it's authenticity, I now go by the rule of thinking, if they're only showing me this picture then what are they hiding? If it's genuine, why not prove to me that it is by taking lots of pictures as proof?
I hope that this post and video was helpful to you and keeps you from wasting your money on fake products that really disappoint you because from personal experience I can assure you that it doesn't feel too good. My advice would be to refrain from buying any products off the internet unless there are lots of genuine looking photos that you can compare to a product that you have at home that you know is genuine e.g. from the actual shop or website. If you think that you have been sold fakes i'm not sure about all the legal stuff and I don't know if I would be able to get refunds because the sellers lied about the authenticity. Thank you for reading/watching, if you haven't seen the video and want to you can either watch it at the top of this post or click here to  be taken to my YouTube channel, please comment, subscribe, follow and have a lovely day :)
