Paperself eyelashes review

Hii, so I got some paperself lashes recently and decided to do a quick review of them because they look so beautiful. Please follow this blog and comment, to watch the video review click here or press play on the video below. Thaanks!

Packaging for these lashes is really sweet, basically everything is made from paper and card apart from the plastic seal in comes in the the plastic seal under the lid so the lashes don't get damaged. It's all very unique and delicate and I was really scared of ripping something but nothing has broken (so far!) so it's actually surprisingly stronger than you think. The lashes are actually held down by a little flap of card which can be manipulated depending on how tightly you want the lashes held (again be aware they are delicate!).

I've wanted some Paperself lashes ever since I saw their stand at IMATS (International makeup artist trade show) but never got any because they're quite expensive. For me, they would be very hard to wear as an everyday thing and I wouldn't have opportunities to put them on so didn't think they were worth the money. I did, however, recently go to the clothes show in Birmingham and got two pairs for £10 which is an amazing deal! It's less than buy one get one free to put it in perspective.

So I got two pairs: one full sized pair and the other was a small corner pair. My full lashes are £12.50 and you always get two in a pack that will cover the upper or lower lashes. For me, I would find them too big, not just because they're daring but I don't think they'd actually fit on my eyelids. The design is called peach blossom so it's a flowery pattern with three main sections (outer and inner corner then the middle). The great thing about the design is that you can trim them to fit or even cut them up into three sections to sort of make you own smaller lashes.

The smaller lashes are £10.50 and are a lot more wearable than the others, you get four in a pack so can wear one of the lower and upper corners of the eye. Mine are small peacock feathers so work lovely by themselves or I could do a bright peacock inspired look behind them.

To apply you need to use eyelash glue which you should leave for about a minute until it's tacky so they stick straight away rather than moving about. Trimming the full lashes was difficult because even trimmed all the way they still didn't fit my eyes properly (but I guess that's because I have small eyes). Also, after taking them off, the lashes really lose their shape and don't fix back into the box because they're not long enough anymore. The corner lashes however are no trouble at all to apply or remove.

All the lashes are designed by Ting yu Wang or at least she designs the concept and ideas behind them and all the lashes are actually made from paper!

FROM THE WEBSITE:

Inspired by the art of Chinese paper-cutting, Eyelashes blend an element of traditional culture with contemporary design.

Intricately cut and delicately pretty, Eyelashes are now available in 11 styles, each infused with symbolic meaning rooted in Chinese culture:

Horses: symbolic of success
Peony: for happiness and good fortune
Peach blossom: a symbol of love and romance
Peacock: auspicious and lucky days
Butterfly: free, beautiful and sensitive
Clown: bring the whole happiness

Unique and expressive, Eyelashes come in two sizes: accentuate the corners of your eyes with the smaller lashes for a subtle daytime look, or make a statement with the full lashes for a special occasion.

I hope that you enjoyed this post, I really enjoyed making it because I think these lashes are amazing and I really urge you to get some. I know they're quite pricey but if they're on special offer you should completely go for it. The smaller corner lashes are defiantly my personal favourite as they are easy to apply and remove (much, much easier than the full length ones) AND they are much more wearable as they add a delicacy rather than overpowering. Please show your support by also watching the video review either by clicking here or watching it above in the post, please subscribe and follow and feel free to post some comments, thanks. Peaches x
